It's amazing how much this tastes like Pumpkin desserts! (I also have the Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Martini which is vodka based and tastes just like a liquid pumpkin pie.
Both have the pumpkin essence that is so much a part of our Thanksgiving celebrations and dinners, but this one is mixed with Bols Pumpkin Smash, Frangelico and rum instead of vodka and Hiram Walker's Pumpkin liqueur like the Pumpkin Pie recipe. Both the Bols and the Hiram Walker are unusual holiday liqueurs and you never know when they'll stop making them so it's nice to have 2 recipe options, don't you think?
Still creamy and rich in the pumpkin pie spices, this one has a slightly nutty flavor from the Frangelico and the rum makes it more of a nog. I like them both for different reasons and, like our Moms' pumpkin pie recipes the flavors differ slightly so this gives you one more pumpkin martini option for your Thanksgiving day celebrations.
