ODE TO THE BABY BOOM
Soon after the war known as WW2,
Daddies came home with nothing to do.
Mommies were happy having them back to stay
And showed them how much in a personal way.
Nine months later there were babies galore,
And the new Baby Boom it was called evermore!
These kiddies grew up in the plentiful days
Of TVs and toys and new fangled ways.
They Mickeyed and Howdyed in their first decade,
Then rocked around the clock in their teen Happy Days.
Though older now with grown kids of their own,
The Baby Boomers still think of the times they weren't grown.
And a small tear might fall from the eyes as they hear
A song they remember from those wonderful years.
